Alligator Alley

If you want to see live alligators in the wild (and almost everyone does), try the Big Cypress Oasis Vsitor Center halfway between Naples and Miami on U.S. 41 (the original alligator alley).

If you’re more interested in seeing a dead alligator (and who wouldn’t be), drive 5 miles west of the visitor center. Better hurry, though. Once the vultures figure out they can get to the inside through his eye sockets, it won’t take them long to hollow him out and then someone will get a bright idea about alligator shoes.

What happened? Old age, maybe or hit by a car and dragged off the road.
