monday morning.

We are parked in the Alameda county , Ca fairgrounds in the east bay. We are here to visit with my brother who is undergoing cancer treatments in San Francisco. This fairground supplies full hookups but the camping area is a gravel parking lot. It’s most attractive asset is that it’s NOT in San Francisco. There is no way I would ever try to pull Fiona anywhere near that city.

Here is good place for us to stay. Rates are inexpensive, it’s safe, amenities are close and so is the BART station. We took this train into the city on Saturday, a very interesting ride for people watchers such as myself. It was a bit disconcerting because I knew that the train had to navigate an underwater tunnel across the bay. While we were under there, I tried to calculate the odds of there being an earthquake of significant enough magnitude to rip the tunnel apart and drown us all before Tom Cruise could rescue any of us. Well, actually, I knew he would save some of us but even Tom, up against an earthquake, couldn’t perform miracles.

Anyway, it was a moot point. We made the crossing before I had figured out the odds.
