Reason #74.

that I can’t sleep at night. I really think that Sarah Palin is contemplating a Presidential run.

Even though I don’t think she’s electable, initially I didn’t think President Obama was either. I worry that the country won’t survive another of these faux demigods.  You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that the country is in trouble.

I’m sitting here this morning contemplating my navel and wondering how all this is going to turn out.  It’s  not hard to figure out a lot of the contributing factors. The frustrating thing is that some of the possible solutions are never going to take place, not in my lifetime, at least.

However,  it’s saturday morning and promising to be a pretty day. Once again, I’m on the right side of the grass and the fish are biting. I think I had better learn to concentrate on becoming a fisherman and let the people in charge do their thing

I will send you my copy of John Avlon’s book “Wingnuts: How the fringe lunatics are hijacking our country”. I chronicles the situation on both left and right pretty well….

I’m continually amazed by this attitude.
    What is wrong with people?
Would she make a good President? Maybe not. But she held an executive position in Alaska and ran a balanced budget there… a job not all that different from being President.
She SURE AS HELL would be doin’ a better job as President than the present occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.!

I suspect those who constantly denigrate this smart, classy, down-to-earth woman have been listening to nothing but left-leaning news…
CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, and the New York (T)slimes, and have bought it hook/line/sinker.
    Educate yourself.
To me, this post makes you look out of touch.

      Mr. GreyBeard,

Perhaps I didn’t speak clearly enough about my concerns with Sarah Palin. What I wanted to say was that there is a lot more to being President than just being a darling of the media. This includes folks like President Obama as well as Sarah Palin.
You need to remember that in todays world, the job of the media is to attract an audience and the way they have chosen to do that is to appeal to the lowest common denominator. If you don’t believe that, visit your grocery store checkout lane.
That is why Richard Lugar or Evan Bayh, either one of which are more qualified than either Sarah Palin or Presidenet Obama, will never be president. Neither of them are going to sell advertising space.
As far as Sarah Palin being smart, classy and down to earth, I would venture to say that Charley Rangel and Gomer Pyle would also be considered down to earth.
The jury is still out on your ‘smart’ label and as far as the ‘classy’ statement goes,
I hope we never have a President who says ‘how’s that hopey, changy thing workin’ out for ya?’
As for me being out of touch, I only wish I was. I would probably sleep better.
