I just watched a show last night on how they make Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup and they also mentioned the 32 feet of noodles. They failed to mention the 1/2" of chicken that is in each can in that tiny bit of space unoccupied by the 32 feet of noodles. They should call it "Noodle Chicken".

And now, a little over a year since I met one of my most favorite and special patients. Your great recovery makes me most happy, Gordan. I pray that strong and cleaned up version of your heart beat on for years to come. Take care and a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

The "Auto Industry" isn't broke.....only that part of it which is run by the UAW is broke. That part of it would be gone completely except for the charity of the taxpayer and the corruption of the union bought government. They will be back in bankruptcy within 2 years.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm 54, would love to retire at 55, will be extremely lucky to be able to retire at 66 and 2 months (my social security retirement age). Guess I went into the wrong business. :)

I was totally ignorant about the sweet potato until this spring. The plants sold to me were Louisiana sweet potatoes and not yams but there is a caveat to that statement. I went to a website

http://www.foodreference.com/html/fsweetpotatoes.html

and found the following:

Despite a physical similarity and a frequent confusion with their names, yams and sweet potatoes are not even distantly related. They are in two different botanical families. Yams are actually related to grasses and lilies

With that said,
African slaves in the South called the sweet potato "nyami" because it reminded them of the starchy, edible tuber of that name that grew in their homeland. The Senegalese word "nyami" was eventually shortened to the word "yam".
"Yam" also refers to sweet potatoes that are grown in Louisiana. When the orange-fleshed, Puerto Rican variety of sweet potatoes was adopted by Louisiana producers and shippers, they were called "yams" to distinguish them from the white-fleshed sweet potatoes grown in other parts of the country. The yam reference became the trademark for Louisiana-grown sweet potatoes.

Don't be confused now...
Sweet potatoes (thanks Dan Quayle) and Yams are two decidedly different critters:

Sweet potatoes are difficult to find in today's world, and have much higher food values than Yams.
Which are we looking at in your pic?
