This was one of the first entries I posted a couple of years ago and it still holds true. I couldn’t say ‘blog’ then and I can’t say ‘blog’ now..
Web log or Weblog! Is that one word or two? My spell checker doesn’t like it as one word so we’ll use two. If you haven’t noticed, I am not using the word ‘blog’. I prefer web log. I know it’s trendy to say Blog, not to mention sauve and debonair, but to me ‘blog’ is more descriptive of the way you feel after you eat too much. “Oh, God. I ate too much chili and now I’m blogged.” I’m also not sure but it might even be the name of the tall, skinny villain that snatched all 101 Dalmatian puppies. “You bop ‘em, Blog, and I’ll skin ‘em.”
While we’re on the subject of words, Web Logs have resurrected another meaning for the word ‘Post’. That’s what we call these little vignettes of prose you’re reading. I probably won’t be using that a lot either.
